Jaime Taylor

Jaime Taylor was born in Dunn, N.C. After graduating high school Jaime decided to stay in North Carolina and attend college at UNCW. In 2002, Jaime graduated from UNCW with a B.A. in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in Psychology. In completion of her internship with MUSC in Charleston, S.C. Jaime moved back to Wilmington in 2004 and began working for a reputable real estate law firm. In her time with the firm she became very knowledgeable in handling all aspects of real estate closings, as well as becoming very familiar in corporation set up. Jaime joined Shipman & Wright, L.L.P., in 2009 and has since become a NC Licensed Real Estate Broker.
Brandy Balderson
Paralegal
Brandy Balderson is a native of Southeastern North Carolina. Brandy is a 2002 graduate from Coastal Carolina Community College, where she obtained an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Technology. Brandy began working with Shipman & Wright as an intern in May of 2002 and has been a full time employee since August of the same year. Her areas of expertise are Construction Litigation, Commercial and Business Litigation, Contract Law and Business Organization. Brandy is continuing her legal studies at Mount Olive College and will graduate in May of 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. After graduation she plans to begin applying for law school to pursue her legal education further.
Starr Anders
Paralegal
Starr Anders is a native Wilmingtonian and began working with Shipman & Wright in December 2007. Starr began working as a Paralegal in 2001 and was "grand-fathered in" as a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal in August 2007. Civil Rights, Complex Business Litigation and Estates are her areas of expertise. Starr is married to husband Jason, and they are proud parents of one son, Austin.
Andrea Townsend

With over eight years of experience Andrea Townsend is a North Carolina Bar Certified Paralegal and Notary Public. She has been a paralegal with Shipman & Wright since 2008. She grew up in Eastern North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated with a BA in Music in 1997. Andrea's dedication and knowledge as a paralegal focusing on personal injury and medical malpractice has lead her to pursue other areas of interest. She is currently in school for massage therapy set to graduate in 2010. Upon graduation Andrea hopes to enjoy continued success in her duel professions.
Barbara Garrison

Barbara Garrison moved to Wilmington, NC in 2003. Graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BA in Criminal Justice. Barbara has decided to continue her education and in 2010 will obtain a BA in English Professional Writing. Barbara has worked with Shipman & Wright for over a year and is a Notary Public. She is currently enrolled at Cape Fear Community College earning her Paralegal Certification and plans to attend law school within the next few years.
Bob Brunner

Bob Brunner moved from Richmond, VA to Wilson, NC where he attended the College at Barton. Bob graduated in 2003 with a BA in History and Political Science and a minor in Geography. In 2005, he decided to obtain his Paralegal certificate from the Washington Institute. He has been with Shipman & Wright since 2007.
Mary Ellen Moran

Mary Ellen Moran lived in New Jersey until her and her husband decided to relocate to North Carolina in 2004. Mary Ellen joined Shipman & Wright as a receptionist in 2006. Mary Ellen poses strong organizational and communication skills that are pivotal for the continued success of the firm.
Tom Peterson
Chief Financial Officer
Originally from Cary, North Carolina, Tom went to UNC Wilmington and majored in Finance. While at UNCW, Tom was a manager on the Men's Basketball team. After graduation, Tom enrolled in the UNC Wilmington Master of Business Administration program and was the Graduate Assistant for the Men's Basketball team as well. Tom spent almost five years in the real estate development business managing and directing million dollar projects in Brunswick and New Hanover counties. As Chief Financial Officer of Shipman & Wright, LLP, Tom is responsible for the financial management, marketing, and overall business strategy of the firm. Tom is married to Jodi Peterson, a labor and delivery nurse, and they have two sons, Michael (2 years old) and Matthew (5 months old).
